Today is July 15th. It's been over a month since I've checked on this site, because I've been trying to clear the backlog of things that should have been done a year ago to make my home livable. I finally got the rotting porch and front ramp rebuilt, with the side deck and ramp next up. Meanwhile I'm fighting wars on several fronts, from dealing with the social security administration that I have been unsuccessfully trying to contact for over two weeks, to having spent 52 days anxiously awaiting a mini skid steer loader ordered through Amazon from a Chinese vendor. Pro tip: DO NOT USE CHINESE SHIPPER JCEX! I watched the shipper's tracking information as my package cleared customs, moved to Kansas City, MO, then Dallas, TX (thinking, hey, you just drove past my QTH!), thence to Oklahoma City. The culmination of the journey occurred when the tracking showed the 1300 lb, 8 foot long crate "arrived at post office" in Elmore City and then, ON THE 4TH OF JULY, showed "delivered to mail box".
Anyway, the crux of this post is that when I went to check on the site, it was inoperable... but nobody noticed! So at this point, I've fixed what ails it and will keep it alive for another month or two, but barring any sudden interest in participation, I will then pull the plug.
I'm a bit closer to getting an HF antenna up; may just go with something temporary so I can try reconnecting to the folks I know in Arizona before they all pass away, but locally I'm going to search for a more active group to get involved with.
